Passwords generation is entirely done on your browser, not server-side: the generated passwords are not saved on the server, and no communication with the server is established during the process (you can shutdown your Internet connection, it will always work).
The generated passwords are totally random, which technically guarantees that they have never been used. It is advisable to have a password with more than 10 characters, containing at least upper and lower case letters and numbers. Adding special characters (such as + & /.-_, *) or increasing the length increases the security of the password. It is also recommended that you do not use the same password everywhere.
